Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has announced a reshuffle of County Chief Officers in accordance with Section 45(5) of the County Governments Act, 2012.
The changes, which take immediate effect, involve the reassignment of 10 officers to new roles across various county departments.
According to a public notice issued by Sakaja, indicate that the reorganization is intended to strengthen service delivery and enhance operational efficiency within key county sectors.
The reshuffle reflects efforts to realign departmental leadership with evolving priorities in Nairobi’s administration.
In the new appointments, Godfrey Akumali moves from Business and Hustler Opportunities to Housing and Urban Renewal, while Tony Michael Kimani, formerly of Social Services, has been reassigned to Social Services and Estate Management.

Lydia Mathia shifts from Housing and Urban Renewal to Business and Hustler Opportunities, and Hibrahim Otieno transitions from Medical Facilities to Environment.
Sande Oyolo moves from Digital Economy and Startups to Medical Facilities, as Wilson Gakuya is transferred from Smart Nairobi to Digital Economy and Startups.
Geoffrey Mosiria leaves the Environment docket for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, while Dr. Machel Waikenda transitions from Mobility to Mobility and Acting ICT Infrastructure.
Additionally, Clement Rapudo has been reassigned from City Culture, Arts and Tourism to Smart Nairobi, and Zipporah Mwangi moves from Citizen Engagement and Customer Service to City Culture, Arts and Tourism.
Governor Sakaja emphasized that the realignments are part of broader efforts to streamline county operations and ensure departments are better positioned to meet the needs of Nairobi residents. “The changes take effect immediately,” the statement concluded.
