Nicki Minaj Loses About 4 Million Instagram Followers for Supporting Donald Trump


Being a celebrity can be one of the riskiest careers, as seen with the recent controversies surrounding American rapper Nicki Minaj after publicly announcing her support for President Donald Trump.

Nairobi News has learned that the Femcee recently experienced a drop in Instagram followers, a situation linked to a heated backlash over her comments supporting Trump.

That is not all, the rapper was also criticized online for appearing at a Turning Point USA event.

Initially, there were claims that Minaj lost 10 million Instagram followers, but it later emerged that the figure was exaggerated.

However, confirmed reports and data revealed that Nicki Minaj experienced a decline of about 4 million followers.

With the latest developments, Minaj’s follower count fell from 227.5 million in November to around 223.8 million in December 2025.

Following the decline, Minaj either deleted or deactivated her account, as this writer could not trace it at the time of filing this report.

It should be noted that Nicki Minaj has faced significant backlash on social media in recent weeks following her support for Trump.

The rapper was recently a surprise guest at the Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona, held on December 21, and shared the stage with Erika Kirk.

She faced a massive backlash after she appeared to misspeak while arguing that there were many conservative role models for young men to look up to.

“Dear young men, you have amazing role models, like our handsome, dashing president. And you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president and when I say that…” Minaj said.

Countless netizens, including her fans, called the gaffe “an absolutely massive f**kup” and “absurdity at its finest.”

Others criticized Minaj for her endorsement of Trump and Vance, with one user writing:

“Nicki Minaj calling Trump and JD Vance ‘down to earth’ and ‘one of us’ tells me everything I need to know about how far celebrity wealth can detach someone from reality.”

Another fan wrote:

“Yesterday, she had more streams than Cardi and Megan combined. I think she’ll be okay losing some left-leaning fans.”
