Self-proclaimed richest Kenyan artist Karagu Kimani, popularly known as KRG The Don, has firmly dismissed claims that he was recently auctioned, allegations that allegedly explained his extended silence on social media.
The dancehall star admitted there was indeed a case involving auctioneers, but clarified that he was not the subject of the auction.
Speaking during a candid interview with Milele FM’s Alex Mwakideu on an episode of his podcast aired on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, KRG disclosed that the auctioneers were attempting to seize his mother’s property, not his.
According to the musician, his name surfaced in the matter simply because he is the only prominent figure in his family.

The Mambo Imechemuka hitmaker explained that his fame often makes him a target of gossip, with many people deliberately pushing false narratives to provoke him into responding.
“Kuna kesi inaendelea lakini si mimi. Kuna watu ambao wanajaribu mambo yao kum-intimidate mamangu. You see, anything that touches my family, because I am the one in my family who is known, it will be me,” KRG revealed.
“Wambea watajaribu kugoza goza mahali ili u-react vile wanataka,” he added.
KRG declined to share further details, noting the case is active in a Kenyan court.
However, he warned those attempting to intimidate his family to back off or face his wrath.
He emphasised that neither he nor his family would succumb to intimidation.
“The good thing is that this is a matter before the court of law, and our lawyers are working on it. Anyone who thinks they can intimidate my mother afikirie tena. Huyo mama amezaa watoto wake simba; watapigania simba mpaka mwisho,” he asserted.
The new revelations come amid swirling social media rumours that the artist went bankrupt, leading to his recent absence from the online scene.
Just days ago, KRG was forced to address claims that he had gone broke.
Nairobi News earlier reported that he posted a video flaunting wads of cash to prove that his silence had nothing to do with financial trouble.
On Thursday, November 27, 2025, the dancehall artist showcased stacks of crisp Sh1,000 notes, dismissing rumours that he disappeared from social media because he was struggling financially.
“Young people, I see that you don’t understand that when someone is quiet, it often means they are focused on their work and their life, and they don’t want unnecessary noise,” KRG said.

He went on to blast critics who quickly jump to conclusions whenever someone goes silent online.
According to him, choosing not to speak publicly does not equate to financial problems, it simply means he is focused on personal projects and prefers peace over noise.
The star urged young people trolling him to stop speculating about someone’s financial status, calling it ignorant and disrespectful.
“You start imagining things that aren’t true. I have told you, whenever you mention my name, never associate it with poverty. Let me correct your ignorance completely. I am a blessed person who cannot be written off. This money I have is real; it’s not tissue paper. Only a few people notice it because I stay quiet,” KRG added.
