WCB songstress Zuchu has come out to prepare the ground ahead of her performance at the CHAN 2024 finals slated for Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
Nairobi News had earlier reported that Zuchu will be among the performers during the Madagascar versus Morocco match.
Taking to her social media pages on Thursday, August 28, the singer announced to her fans that she cannot wait to thrill them during the CHAN 2024 finals.

While her announcement pleased a section of her Kenyan fans, the same irked many who dragged her for mistakes she had allegedly committed a couple of weeks ago.
Many netizens trolled her on end holding that they are not looking forward to her performance, especially after insulting Kenyans in a previous Kenya Vs Tanzania ‘tweef’.
Quite a number reminded her that she had earlier vowed never to perform in Kenya or even work with Kenyan artists on collaborations after most of them attacked her president Samia Hassan Suluhu.

Well, in a latest yet surprising turn of events, Zuchu took her words back as she distanced herself from the initial accusations.
Speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Friday, August 29, 2025, Zuchu rubbished claims of disowning Kenya as baseless as she reassured Kenyans of her deep love and admiration.
According to the songstress, the claims stemmed from a radio discussion that misrepresented her facts and intentions.
Zuchu insisted that she chose to ignore the trolls when they went for her instead of engaging them, holding that she respects her fans far more than social media users.
“One of the most hateful comments I have seen is the claim that I said I wasn’t going to perform in Kenya and that I hate it. I have always stated that I block people who leave hurtful comments, and this is exactly what I did when I first saw it. I know very well where it came from: two guys from a radio station discussing it, and I was like, “Who told you that?” she quipped.

The artiste reiterated that her connection with Kenyan audiences runs deep, with a significant portion of her viewers hailing from the country.
She described the claims as hurtful and entirely untrue, adding that she would never intentionally slight her supporters.
“Give me the evidence. I never said that. So, the typical me, who ignores things, just blocked it and did not deal with it. Seeing it resurface now really breaks my heart because half of my viewers come from Kenya, and I truly respect my fans. I do not respect trolls; I respect my fans,” she added.
Nairobi News had reported how Zuchu received criticism after announcing that she will be performing in Kenya during the CHAN 2025 finals.
Some netizens mauled her on end while others picked issue with CAF for leaving out Kenyan artists in list of performers and going for Zuchu, whom they labeled a foreigner.
