I have invested heavily after leaving Wasafi and it’s paying, Lava Lava discloses

Former WCB signee Lava Lava has opened up about his journey after leaving the label.

The musician has revealed that he was forced to invest heavily in his craft especially after losing the support from WCB that he initially enjoyed.

Speaking during an interview with Clouds FM on Monday, August 25, 2025, he disclosed that many people thought he could not make it on his own after leaving the Diamond Platnumz-led record label.

Heavy Investment

However, he put his resources together and started a solo career that has started to look up.

According to the star, he learnt to do things on his own while still at Wasafi since he used to handle almost every aspect of his career by himself.

“It is true I did not have that much money but I pulled my resources and a good team behind me. I have invested heavily since I left Wasafi and that is evident through my comeback. I even used my own money to prepare ground for my comeback. I hired a yacht and even paid a number of people to help me with marketing and I thank God things have started to work out for the best,” he added.

Wasafi Exits

His revelation comes barely two months after announcing his exit from WCB.

During his stint at WCB, the Gundu crooner was among the lukewarm artists whose progress could not be felt vis-a-vis his fellow signees.

It should be noted the music act is the fifth artist to ditch WCB.

Harmonize was the first one to leave the camp and was followed closely by Rich Mavoko.
