Police have launched investigations into a suspected murder after the body of an unidentified man was found dumped between two stalled shipping containers in Rabai Sub-County, Kilifi County.
The body was discovered on Sunday morning at Bonje A Village after a resident, alerted police.
Police officers visited the scene and found the body wedged between two stationary containers, with the head hanging downwards while the legs remained upright.
Investigators observed bruises on the deceased’s shoulder, the back of the head and the fingers of his right hand.
Police suspect the man may have been killed elsewhere before his body was dumped at the scene.
The area was processed and documented by crime scene investigators before the body was moved to the Coast General Hospital mortuary for preservation, identification and a post-mortem examination.
The deceased had no identification documents, and police have appealed for information that may help establish his identity as investigations continue.
And an 18-year-old man was found dead in an irrigation canal within a rice plantation in Muhoroni Sub-County, Kisumu County, in a suspected drowning incident.
The body of Kevin Odhiambo Oketch was discovered by members of the public on Sunday morning at Kanunga Village, Kore Sublocation, Ombeyi Location, while they were carrying out routine farming activities.
Police officers visited the scene and retrieved the body from the irrigation scheme.
An examination at the scene found no visible physical injuries on the deceased.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Kevin had a long-standing mental disorder. His father, Tom Oketch, told investigators that his son would frequently leave home unnoticed because of his condition.
Police suspect the teenager accidentally fell into the irrigation canal and drowned.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination as investigations into the incident continue.
