Police officers in Kahawa West are investigating a fatal fall involving a three-year-old boy who died after reportedly falling from the fourth floor of a residential building in Kasarani Sub-County, Nairobi.
The incident happened on May 14 following a fall that occurred at around 5pm at the Triple M Building.
Police said the child was on the balcony of the fourth floor in the company of his seven-year-old brother when he allegedly fell.
He was rushed to the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was later moved to the hospital mortuary for preservation and postmortem examination.
Investigators documented the primary scene at the Triple M Building and the secondary scene at the hospital, where the body was found lying in a supine position with visible head injuries.
Police said the scene has been processed and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fall are ongoing.
Other death-related incidents
Elsewhere, police in Mukaa Sub-County, Makueni County, are investigating a drowning incident. This was after the body of a middle-aged man was recovered floating in a dam at Ikomba Village.
The scene was visited by officers from Salama Police Station alongside detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
At the scene, police recovered the lifeless body of John Githangu Ndungu, a Kikuyu male adult, floating in the dam.
Investigations further revealed that a missing person report had earlier been filed at Malili Police Post following the deceased’s disappearance on May 11.
Police confirmed that the body had no visible injuries.
The scene was documented before the body was moved to Kilungu Sub-County Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the drowning are ongoing.
Another drowning incident happened in Baringo County. Police said they are investigating the incident and the body was moved to the mortuary.
