How MC Rayan The DJ Built His Name in the US

MC Rayan The DJ previously attracted attention for his efforts to bring Kenyans and other African communities together through music events in the United States.

In a May 2020 profile published by Africans in America, the entertainer was described as a Kenyan-born performer who had been organising Afro-themed concerts and events to foster unity among Africans living abroad.

The publication identified him as Brian Ngendo, who was born in Kiambu, Kenya, and reported that he had organised more than 10 club events and concerts where Kenyans and people from other African countries could meet, socialise and enjoy music.

His approach was driven by the idea that entertainment could help bridge cultural gaps and maintain connections with home, even for people living thousands of kilometres away.

The events also provided platforms for African musicians to reach audiences in the United States, helping them connect with fans beyond their home markets.

He also worked with Jamaican artistes Konshens, Mavado and Demarco through collaborations involving One Voice Promotions.

His event-promotion activities extended to different American locations, including Kansas City, Dallas, Miami, Seattle and North Carolina, helping create opportunities for African music and entertainment within diaspora communities.

These experiences have positioned him at the intersection of music, cultural connection and entertainment entrepreneurship.

Why the Vibe Check EP Is Another Milestone

For an entertainer who has spent years balancing music with deejaying and event promotion, releasing an eight-track EP provides an opportunity to place his own musical output at the centre of his career.

The collaborations on Vibe Check also connect the project with artistes who have established audiences in Kenya, potentially introducing the release to listeners who follow different corners of the local music scene.

The involvement of Breeder LW, Boutross, Trio Mio, Cosign Black, Naiboi and Yung Koded gives the tracklist a strong collaborative focus, while the inclusion of the songs Vibe Check and Kitambo adds variety to the project’s titles.

The release further reflects the opportunities available to Kenyan entertainers building careers across international markets while maintaining links with the country’s music industry.

As MC Rayan The DJ continues his journey, Vibe Check offers fans a new collection of music and another opportunity to follow his growth from an events promoter and deejay into a recording artiste with a growing catalogue.

For his supporters in Kenya and the diaspora, the EP marks a fresh addition to his musical journey after years of involvement in the entertainment scene.
