Willis Raburu exposes identity of thug who stole his Samsung Galaxy Fold at Carnivore


Not everyone who attends concerts and other music events in Kenya do so for entertainment.

While some patronise events to enjoy the entertainment, others usually show up to scout for their next victims.

Many are times countless Kenyans have come out to disclose how they lost their phones and other gadgets at some of these events.

It has now become apparent that anyone, including your favourite celebrities can become a victim of thugs and their wicked plots and former 10 Over 10 host Willis Raburu is not an exception.

Nairobi News has learnt Raburu lost his Samsung Galaxy Fold on the night of Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Kulture x OktobaFest 2000s edition held at the Carnivore Grounds.

Raburu did not disclose reports of his loss until he managed to get the identity of the person who either stole the phone or bought it from people who nicked it from the journo.

Announcing the loss of his phone on social media, Raburu revealed he had utilised a feature in the phone that could take photos of anyone trying to unlock the gadget several times unsuccessfully.

Using the photos captured by his stolen phone to look for leads, Raburu urged Kenyans to help him locate the person captured in the photos which he duly shared online.

In his post, the journalist did not point out the person in the photos as the thief but someone who had ‘found’, rather picked the phone.

“Jana we lost Samsung Galaxy Fold at carnivore. Cool feature that it had was that if you input the WRONG screen lock code it takes a picture of you and sends it on email. Well this guy clearly FOUND the phone. If you know him or if you see this sir, DM me OR email info@wabebe.co.ke,” he wrote.

His revelation irked a number of his fans who came out to call out the people who stole his phone.

Many could not help but die of laughter while reprimanding the man captured in the photos, holding that he could be one of the stupidest thieves Kenya has ever seen.

A host of netizens pleased with the subject of the photo to just return the phone to Raburu now that his identity had been revealed.

Quite a multitude insisted that Raburu should take action and ensure the thief gets the worst punishment ever for stealing his phone.

This, they said would be a perfect example to other thieves who think they can steal people’s gadgets at events and walk scotts free.
