Woman found murdered in Juja apartment as police hunt boyfriend
Detectives launched investigations into the murder of a 49-year-old woman whose decomposing body was discovered inside her apartment in Juja, Kiambu County, as detectives pursue her boyfriend, who is now missing.
The body of Nadia Njeri Ndung’u was discovered on Monday night after her sister, accompanied by the caretaker of G&G Residence Apartments in the Biashara area, visited her house following concerns over a foul smell coming from the one-bedroom apartment.
Police visited the scene and found the deceased’s naked, decomposing body lying on a mattress.
Police said the beddings were stained with blood, while the deceased had what appeared to be stab wounds to the head and neck. She had also bled from the mouth and nose.
A blood-stained kitchen knife, believed to have been used in the attack, was recovered beside the body. Investigators also noted that the room was in disarray, suggesting that a struggle may have taken place before the killing.
Preliminary investigations established that the deceased had been living in the apartment with her boyfriend, who could not be traced after his mobile phone was found switched off.
Police further established that the deceased’s husband, Ibrahim Ali Sonali Ali Yousif, a Saudi Arabian national, had travelled to Saudi Arabia on July 19, 2026, several days before the body was discovered.
Crime scene investigators processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to the Kenyatta University Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
And detectives have launched a manhunt for the missing boyfriend as investigations into the murder continue.
Police in Kwale County launched investigations into the murder of a 52-year-old woman who succumbed to injuries after she was attacked by an unknown assailant at her home in Lunga Lunga Sub-county.
The incident was reported on Monday morning by the deceased’s husband, who said his wife, Umazi Mangale Brehe, was assaulted at their homestead on Sunday at about 7.30 p.m.
The attacker reportedly fled the scene after inflicting severe injuries to the victim’s neck and chin.
The woman was rushed to Lunga Lunga Sub-County Hospital in critical condition before being referred to Msambweni Referral Hospital for specialised treatment. However, she died while undergoing treatment.
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Mwangulu Police Station visited and processed the scene as investigations into the killing got underway.
The body has been preserved at the hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
