Police launched investigations into the murder of a 46-year-old man whose body was found with multiple injuries in Kandara Sub-county, Murang’a County.
The body of Paul Ng’ang’a Kinyanjui was discovered on Monday night at Kiguoya Village.
Police who visited the scene found the deceased lying on his back with multiple injuries, including wounds to both hands and legs, as well as deep cuts to the top and back of the head.
Crime scene investigators processed and documented the area before the body was moved to Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home pending a post-mortem examination.
Police have commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and to identify those responsible. No arrests had been made by the time the report was filed.
And police in Lamu County have launched investigations after the body of a 32-year-old woman who had been reported missing was found decomposing in a thicket in Lamu West Sub-county.
The body of Elizabeth Nduku was discovered on Monday evening in the White House area of Poromoko Village.
Police officers visited the scene and found the decomposing body concealed deep inside a thicket.
Police established that the woman had earlier been reported missing by her husband, Pius Kihiga, 42, who told officers that she had disappeared on July 20 and that he initially suspected she had travelled to her parents’ home.
Preliminary investigations further revealed that the deceased had given birth at home five days before she went missing and had not sought medical care after delivery.
Police said information gathered so far suggests she may have been experiencing mental distress associated with the period following childbirth, although the exact circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation.
Crime scene personnel photographed and documented the scene before the body was moved to Malindi Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Detectives are continuing investigations into the incident.
