Two individuals have been arrested and a cache of looted property recovered following a police operation in Majengo Village, Laikipia East Sub-County.
The operation, which took place on July 29, 2025, was conducted by officers from Nanyuki Police Station under the leadership of the Officer Commanding Station (OCS).
The arrests come in the aftermath of recent protests that led to widespread vandalism and theft across parts of Nanyuki town.
According to police, the two suspects were found in possession of assorted stolen goods believed to have been taken during the unrest.

Among the items recovered were twenty mismatched single shoes of various sizes, suspected to have been looted from a Bata shop.
Also found were seven packs of hair braids, a sealing tape marked “Bestlady Cosmetics Ltd”, and two pieces of sewing thread, all pointing to theft from Bestlady Cosmetics.
Additional items included six pairs of socks, seven bulb holders, two computer power cables, and assorted wheel spanners.
Significantly, officers also recovered a modified pressure machine and around 350 NSP kits, which are believed to have been looted from LifeCare Chemist, an establishment that was vandalised during the protests.
All recovered items have been secured at Nanyuki Police Station and are being held as exhibits for ongoing investigations.
The two suspects remain in custody as they undergo processing. Authorities have confirmed that they will be arraigned in court once the investigation is complete.
In a statement, the National Police Service reiterated its commitment to recovering stolen property and bringing all perpetrators to justice.

“We remain fully committed to recovering stolen items and bringing all perpetrators to justice. These arrests are a direct result of continued intelligence-led operations,” said the OCS.
Police have appealed to the public to continue supporting ongoing security operations by providing information that could lead to further arrests or recoveries.
