Esther Passaris sparks pregnancy rumours following new video at Lee Funeral Home

Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris, a seasoned politician known for her vocal presence in Kenyan public life, has found herself at the centre of fresh speculation after a video of her at Lee Funeral Home began circulating widely on social media.

The footage, which captured her greeting mourners at the facility where the body of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno was received, sparked a flurry of online conversation after keen-eyed viewers pointed to what appeared to be a “protruding stomach” as she walked and interacted with others.

Esther Passaris , who was among several political figures present at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi on March 1 to receive the body of the late MP Ng’eno, one of six people killed in a helicopter crash in Mosop on February 28, had stepped out in a sleek black, figure-hugging dress that accentuated her silhouette.

It was Esther Passaris ‘ choice of attire and the shape of her midsection in the video that quickly drew attention, leading some netizens to speculate that she might be pregnant.

The incident comes against a backdrop of intense national mourning for Johana Ng’eno, whose sudden death has reverberated across political and social circles in Kenya.

Ng’eno, who served as Emurua Dikirr MP and was recognised for his work on various parliamentary committees, died when the helicopter he and five others were travelling in crashed into trees in bad weather, killing all aboard.

Their bodies were later flown to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi where leaders and family members gathered.

Video Goes Viral as Speculation Mounts

The brief clip of Passaris, filmed by fellow mourners and later posted on platforms like TikTok, X (formerly Twitter) and WhatsApp groups, ignited rapid speculation.

Many commentators claimed the noticeable curve around her abdomen was suggestive of a possible pregnancy, while others urged caution, noting that clothing or posture can also create such an impression.

By nightfall on social media, hashtags and comment threads were rife with conjecture about whether the lawmaker might be expecting a child.

Here are some comments:

“Is she pregnant?🙄”

Carolyn Njiru said:

“Leo amevaa nguo refu angalau.”

Despite the buzz online, there has been no confirmation from Passaris or her office regarding any pregnancy, and Nairobi News cannot independently verify whether she is indeed pregnant or not.

Outside of this latest social media moment, she has been active in various community, business and advocacy initiatives and was re-elected in the 2022 general election.

As of now, what began as a mourning moment has evolved into a viral topic, reflecting how quickly public figures can become subject to online scrutiny, particularly in an age where short video clips can reach millions within hours.

Whether the speculation holds any basis in fact remains unconfirmed, but it underscores how the personal lives of politicians often become fodder for public discussion in Kenya’s digital age.
