Police in Lang’ata Sub-County are investigating the death of an unidentified middle-aged man whose body was discovered at Nairobi Dam on Tuesday evening.
Police officers responded to an anonymous tip received at about 5:00 p.m. indicating that a body was lying within the dam.
Police officers who rushed to the scene found the body of the man lying motionless and established that he had allegedly been electrocuted by illegally installed electrical wires within the dam area.
Preliminary observations revealed that the deceased had sustained severe burn injuries on his left hand and neck, consistent with electrocution.
Scene of Crime personnel processed and documented the scene before the body was removed to the Nairobi Funeral Home for preservation pending identification and a post-mortem examination.
Investigations were launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the illegal power connections and the identity of the deceased.
Meanwhile, police in Kibra, Nairobi, are investigating a sudden death after a 51-year-old man was found unresponsive in his house on Tuesday evening.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Patrick Agesa, had been unwell for some time and was left asleep in the house by his housemate, who left for work at around 5:30 a.m.
The housemate returned home at approximately 8:30 p.m. and found Agesa still lying in bed.
After calling out to him and attempting to check on his condition, he realized that his friend was unresponsive.
The matter was reported to a local community policing member before being formally reported to Kibra Police Station.
Police officers visited the scene and found the lifeless body lying on the bed in the recovery position.
A preliminary examination revealed no visible external injuries.
Scene of Crime investigators documented the scene before the body was transferred to Nairobi Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
