It seems comedian Eric Omondi has finally moved on!
Just six months after parting ways with his baby mama Lynne Njihia, the self-proclaimed President of Comedy Africa appears to have found love again, and fans can’t stop talking about it.
For months, Eric had remained tight-lipped about his relationship status, leaving fans guessing whether he had truly moved on or was still healing from his public breakup.
But as it turns out, love has found its way back into his life.
According to reports reaching Nairobi News, the comedian is said to be dating a Kisumu-based makeup artist who has allegedly “swept him off his feet.”
Though Eric is yet to publicly introduce the mystery lady, the two have been spotted together on several occasions looking cozy and smitten.
The revelation came to light after blogger Edgar Obare shared snippets and insider details on his BNN Instagram and Telegram pages, sending social media into a frenzy.
Soon after, fans flooded the comment sections with congratulatory messages, praising Eric for “bouncing back” in style.
Sources close to the funnyman revealed that Eric didn’t take long to move on after being dumped by Lynne, with whom he shares a daughter.
As earlier reported, the comedian opened up about the split during an interview with Zari Hassan’s former manager, Galston Anthony. Although he initially tried to dodge questions about the breakup, he eventually admitted that while the relationship had ended, the two remained good friends.
“A lot of things happened, but we’re good now. We’ve always been friends, even before we had the baby. It wasn’t something big, it could have been a poor joke. The fact that we’re still talking means we’re okay,” Eric said.
The father of one added that he had deliberately avoided discussing the breakup publicly to protect Lynne and their daughter from unnecessary attention.
He went on to compare his situation with that of fellow comedian Mulamwah, saying he chose a more private and respectful approach.
“When we separated, she was the one who announced it. I decided to be the man and keep quiet. The media was all over me, but I told them, ‘that’s my wife.’ My brother Mulamwah handled his breakup differently; he spoke about it openly. I chose silence, to protect her and our little girl,” he explained.
Eric also confessed that Lynne’s breakup post caught him by surprise.
According to him, the relationship ended largely due to his busy schedule and lack of presence.
“I called her and asked if she was serious. My work involves activism, comedy, and philanthropy, it can be overwhelming. Sometimes, ladies just need attention, communication, and presence, and I couldn’t give enough of that,” he admitted.
With his new romance blossoming, fans are eager to see whether Eric will finally introduce his mystery lady, or keep his love life under wraps this time.
One thing’s for sure; the comedian is proving that heartbreak isn’t the end of the story, but just the beginning of another chapter.
