Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) Chair Wafula Chebukati will be laid to rest on March 8 at his farm in Kitale, according to his family.
Chebukati who passed away recently, had been undergoing medical treatment after battling cancer.
His family confirmed that he suffered a cardiac arrest following two brain surgeries related to his condition.
The family has expressed their grief over the loss, describing Chebukati as a dedicated public servant who served the country with integrity.

His passing has left many in the political and eclectoral spheres in mourning, as he was known for his leadership during crucial elections.
A postmortem is scheduled to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Chebukati’s legacy as the head of the IEBC during several key elections in Kenya will be remembered for his role in overseeing rhe electoral process in the country.
