How to Schedule Posts on TikTok

TikTok is one of the most popular social media platforms in the world, especially for short-form videos. Whether you’re a brand, content creator, or digital marketer, timing your posts strategically can help you reach more people and boost engagement. Fortunately, TikTok allows users to schedule videos in advance—saving time and allowing for better planning of content calendars. Here is how to schedule posts on TikTok.

Requirements for Scheduling TikTok Posts

Before you can begin scheduling your TikTok posts, you must meet certain requirements. First, you need to have a TikTok Business or Creator account. This is different from a personal account and offers access to advanced tools such as analytics and the scheduling feature. You also need to access TikTok from a web browser on a desktop or laptop computer, as scheduling is not yet available on the mobile app.

To convert your TikTok account to a Business or Creator account, go to your profile, tap the three-line menu in the top right corner, choose “Settings and privacy,” then tap “Manage account.” From there, select “Switch to Business Account” or “Switch to Creator Account” and follow the prompts.

Steps to Schedule a TikTok Video

Once you have the right account type and you’re logged in on desktop, uploading and scheduling a post is straightforward. Visit the TikTok website and log in using your account credentials. At the top right of the screen, click the “Upload” button. This will take you to the video upload page.

Choose the video you want to upload from your computer. Fill in the required fields such as the caption, cover image, hashtags, and video privacy settings. Just below the privacy settings, you will see a toggle switch labeled “Schedule video.” Turn this on to enable the scheduling option.

After enabling scheduling, a calendar and time picker will appear. Select the date and time you want your video to go live. TikTok allows you to schedule content up to 10 days in advance. Once everything is set, click the “Schedule” button at the bottom of the screen. Your video will now be set to publish at the scheduled time, and you can view it in the “Scheduled” section of your profile.

Editing or Deleting a Scheduled Video

If you change your mind about a scheduled post, you can manage it easily. Go to your profile on TikTok’s web version, and under the “Scheduled” tab, you will see a list of upcoming posts. Click on the specific video to view, edit, or delete it. Please note that once a video is scheduled, it cannot be edited directly—you will have to delete it and re-upload a new version if changes are needed.

Why Scheduling Posts Matters

Scheduling TikTok videos is especially useful for creators who want to maintain consistency and reach their audience at peak hours, even when they are not online. It also helps in managing campaigns, launching product teasers, and planning themed content ahead of time.

For brands and influencers, consistent posting at optimal times has been proven to improve algorithm performance and audience retention. Using the scheduling feature allows you to plan your strategy efficiently while focusing more on content creation and less on daily uploads.
