The Kenya Metriological Department has issued a rainfall predicting moderate to heavy rains across several regions of the country from Monday, November 25, to Tuesday November 26 2024.
The rains are expected to impact diverse areas prompting residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
Region’s Expected to Experience Rainfall
Areas surrounding the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley will see persistent moderate to heavy rainfall.
North-western Kenya
This region is forecasted to experience sporadic downpours with potential localized heavy rains.
Including Nairobi county where moderate to heavy rains are expected throughout the forecast period.
Intermittent rainfall is expected with isolated cases of heavy precipitation.
Moderate rains will extend across these with some regions receiving heavier coverage.
Rainfall along the coastal belt will range from light to moderate with isolated heavy downpours antiporter in some areas.

Precautionary Measures
Meteorological Department have issued exercise caution that roads may become slippery and visibility may be reduced during heavy rains.
However residents in flood prone Areas are alerted for potential flooding and ensure safety measures are in place.
As this season of rain continues, famers are advised to take advantage of rains for planting but be wary of excessive waterlogging in low-lying areas.
The expected rains could lead to localized flooding especially in poorly drained urban areas and regions near rivers.
