Mombasa County’s Head of Entertainment, Amoury Ali is under siege following the appointment of his close allies to the Mombasa County government.
Amoury, has in the past few days been facing massive backlash from netizens after it emerged he had fronted his buddies for key positions in the Mombasa County government.
Nairobi News understands a number of people allied to the former musician were recently appointed to plum county jobs.

Below is a list of the recent appointees;
• Amoury (Amour Ally) – Office of the Governor, Head of Entertainment
• Dazlah Kiduche (Suleiman Hassan) – Department of Transport and Infrastructure
• Maimoonah (Maimuna Ali) – Department of Youth, Gender and Sports
• Swaleh Hassan – Upcoming Artist, Department of Environment.
It is important to note that all the appointees come from the musician’s circle at Shirko Media, nicknamed Waswahili by countless social media users.
The appointments did not settle well with many netizens, specifically Mombasa residents who called out Amoury for ‘nepotism’.
Many did not blame the Mombasa County governor Abduswamad Nassir, holding that he only approved names forwarded by Amoury.
Much blame was shifted on the former SAV Clan singer, whom many accused of only considering people close to him for county appointments and events.
This is not the first time the former musician is accused of favouritism.
For some time now, countless creatives from Mombasa county have been on his neck, accusing him of sidelining people who deserve opportunities to work with and for the county and always fronting his cronies.
The accused recently addressed the accusations in the most undiplomatic ways ever.

Speaking during an interview with Radio 47’s Billy Miya and Mbaruk Mwalimu, Amoury claimed he does not care about what people think about him or his work.
He noted that he is keen on working for the county and cannot waste his time dealing with critics.
He insisted that he cannot please everyone while performing his duties.
“Mimi simtambui huyo Vincent Kras. Kazi yangu si kufurahisha kila mtu bali kuhakikisha kazi inafanywa,” he said.
His response came after netizens, led by social media commentator Vincent Kras called him out over favouritism.
