Before his sad and sudden demise, Gengetone artist Shalkido reached out to countless local celebrities for help.
The artist may have reached out to tens of local stars but only a few, including Eric Omondi and Oga Obinna came through for him.
However, following his demise on Monday, October 6, 2025, various celebrities took to social media to mourn him with many sharing screenshots of conversations they had with Shalkido before his death.

Well, in the midst of mourning Shalkido, some screenshots showing the deceased artist threatening to end his life.
A screenshot of a conversation between Shalkido and a yet to be identified Kenyan celebrity in which the former threatened to off himself has fast gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online.
In the conversation, Shalkido informed the celebrity that he was tired with life after suffering for quite a while and claimed it was better for him to die.
The celebrity then tried to encourage him by telling him to let go of such dark thoughts as things will eventually look up.
The screenshot of the chat caused a melee online with countless netizens calling out local celebrities for ignoring Shalkido when he reached out to them for assistance.
Many blasted local stars who snubbed him during his lifetime but were busy posting him with endless condolences messages.

As earlier reported by Nairobi News, Shalkido died while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital following a grisly motorcycle accident along Thika Super Highway.
Doctors’ reports indicated that the deceased suffered a fractured skull and a broken leg.
He had been admitted to ICU, with doctors waiting for the swelling in his brain to subdue before conducting life-savings surgeries on him.
However, the artist succumbed to his injuries before doctors could work on him.
His death sent shockwaves across the country with countless people, including notable personalities paying tribute to him with countless posts.
