“Good morning Papa Mukangai. Hivi nikuulize hii story ya kuwa mumepewa suspension wewe na Kinjo ni ukweli ama ni rumours tu?” The fan asked.

In his feedback, Mukangai insisted that he is hearing the news of his suspension from outside sources and not from the people who matter, his employer.

While answering the fan, he urged him and other listeners not to just post everything online before confirming from the concerned parties.

“Good morning, bro Wacha nikuambie jambo Moja la maana wewe ni Kijana mdogo na jinsi unapiga watangazaji kwenye mitandao si mbaya lakini sometimes before you post anything think twice. You are doing well kwenye mitandao yako ya FB hiyo story ya kua suspended naskia tu kutoka kwenu. Mimi sijui. Kua na wakati mwema,” Mukangai said.

Rumours of Mukangai’s suspension was started by an online noisemaker known as Darius Kipkosgei who claimed the journalist and his co-host Walter Kinjo had been suspended.

According to his post, the noisemaker insisted the two were suspended for using Radio Maisha for their own benefits, accruing even more followers online than the even the station itself.

“Breaking News Stephen Mukangai Has Been Suspended By Radio Maisha Until Further Notice For Using The Station For His Own Benefit and Gain Surpassing Radio Maisha’s Followers On His Social Media Platforms,” Darius posted.

His post was met with mixed reactions with quite a number of netizens calling him out for spreading fake news.

A section of social media users, however, believed him and ran with the story before seeking clarification from the subjects.
