Protest broke out in koisagat, Kericho County, after residents discovered a severed head of a middle-aged man in a cooking pot with a house.
Subsequently, they found the man’s torson in a nearby thicket, approximately, two kilometers away.
Locals are alleging that a local businessman is behind the murder, accusing him of being the cause of rising insecurity in the area.
The protests led to disruptions at koisagat Market.
Jefferson Kirui, a resident of Koisagat, recount that a child woke up early to prepare tea and stumbled upon the head in the pot.
“At around 5 a.m., while getting a sufuria to make tea, the child discovered the head inside. The shocking sight made us scream for help” Kirui explained.
Another resident, markt too, mentioned a second victim who lost his hands in a similar incident.
He indicated that both cases occurred nearly simultaneously and that victim is currently receiving treatment at Kericho Referral Hospital.

“This person has been killed, and there is another at Kericho Refferal Hospital who is without hands.
Both incidents took place on the same day,” Too said.
Residents have criticized local security forces for negligence and alleged collusion with the businessman suspected of the murder.
They claim that authorities release the suspect soon after each arrest.
Brain Ngetich expressed concerns, stating that the suspect brazenly boasted to the community about his untouchability.
“Someone gets arrested today and is released by tomorrow. Sometimes they don’t even make it to the police station.
He returns and boasts that he cannot be punished. If they believe we can’t do anything, he will eliminate us all,” Ngetich lamented.
Kericho County Commander James Ngetich assured residents that security officers would conduct a thorough investigation and aim to apprehend the suspect within the next three weeks.
“We will search for this individual everywhere until we capture him. Within the next two to three weeks, he will be arrested,” he stated.
The deceased’s body has been transported to the Kericho County morgue as investigations continue.
