What Is a TikTok Group Chat?

A TikTok group chat is a messaging thread that includes multiple TikTok users. It works like group chats on other social platforms, allowing members to send messages, links to videos, emojis, and more within the app. As of recent updates, TikTok lets you add several friends into one conversation for easier communication and content sharing.

Step 1: Make Sure You’re Eligible

Before creating a group chat, ensure that:

You’re over 16 years old (TikTok restricts messaging for underage users).
You and your intended members follow each other.
You have the latest version of the TikTok app.
Your messaging settings allow DMs (you can check this under Settings > Privacy > Direct Messages).

Step 2: Open Your Inbox

Launch the TikTok app and tap the Inbox icon located at the bottom of the screen, next to the “+” button.
