Gen Zs Fill Up KICC Grounds To Witness Launch Of William Ruto’s Son George’s Multi-Million Matatu ‘Mood’


It was all celebrations and display of colours as Nairobi’s newest and most expensive matatu Mood made it’s debut.

The new matatu, owned by President William Ruto’s son George was taken for a spin for the first time on the night of Thursday, July 18, giving Nairobians a chance to marvel at its beauty.

In videos that have fast gone viral and seen by Nairobi News, hundreds of young Nairobians could be seen singing and dancing as Mood drove slowly at the KICC grounds.

The launch had models who led the matatu across groups of Gen Zs who had turned up to welcome Nairobi’s most souped up matatu.

Business was brought to a standstill with traffic snarl ups experienced in the charges up launch that turned into a concert.

The latest development unfolded barely days after photos of the matatu in the garage made rounds on social media.

This site reported how Ruto’s son George is said to have poured money in the brand new matatu with unique features set to hit the roads in the next few days.

According to a matatu industry enthusiast and insider who sought anonymity, George Ruto’s new matatu that comes with a complete DJ turntables and live deejay will ply the the Embakasi and Rongai routes.

The insider intimated that the President’s son allegedly splashed over Sh 14 million just to soup up the new matatu.

Sources intimate to the owner have revealed that the matatu has been fitted with 65-inch TV screens, solar panels and other cool additions , all imported from China.

Nairobi News got exclusive access to photos of the interior of Ruto’s new matatu and can confidently disclose that it will cause ripples in the matatu industry upon it’s launch.

The launch of Mood, the new matatu comes not long after the rerouting of yet another fancy matatu owned by George Ruto, known as Manifest from Rongai to Embakasi following a streak of controversies over its conduct on the road.

While many people look forward to enjoy rides in the fancy matatu, insider reports indicate that the vehicle could be diverted from the usual PSV routes and serve in the private and cooperate sector, specifically for hire.

Doom, the new matatu first became the talk of town after Ruto’s son was pictured posing next to it holding a customised number plate.

George Ruto has been the subject of discussions in different forums after it emerged he is the owner of some of the swankiest matatus in Nairobi.
