President William Ruto has extended heartfelt congratulations to Faith Kipyegon following her sensational victory in the women’s 3000m at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland.
Kipyegon delivered a historic performance, clocking the second-fastest time ever recorded in the event.
She also shattered the African record, set a new Diamond League record, and posted the world-leading time all in a single, breathtaking race.
“Faith, you continue to redefine greatness and inspire an entire generation,” President Ruto remarked in his message.
The President also praised Lilian Odira, who clocked a new personal best to claim second place in the women’s 800m, and Beatrice Chebet, who secured a strong second-place finish in the 1500m.
Timothy Cheruiyot was similarly commended for his spirited performance and impressive second-place finish, demonstrating determination and resilience.
“Team Kenya, you have once again flown our flag high, lifted our national pride, and reaffirmed our position as a global athletics powerhouse,” the President said.
The outstanding results in Poland highlight Kenya’s continued dominance and depth in middle- and long-distance running on the world stage.
