Controversial musician Kelechi Africana has found himself in a tight spot after he was called out for scamming his fans and a club owner.
Nyevu Fondo, a vocal Coast-based content creator on Monday, August 18, 2025, came out to expose Kelechi as a con after failing to show up at an event he had been paid for.
In a Facebook post seen by Nairobi News, Fondo alleged that Kelechi had been booked for a show in a Malindi club but did not honour his end of the bargain.

According to Nyevu, Kelechi received deposit for the show and promised to show up but did the opposite, leaving his fans disappointed.
Nyevu disclosed that the club owner counted losses after carrying out heavy marketing including a roadshow ahead of Kelechi’s performance.
The content creator called on Kelechi Africana to refund the deposit as she slammed local artistes of playing and scamming events promoters.

Her exposé irked countless netizens who camped on the comments section of her post to reprimand Kelechi Africana.
Nairobi News reached out to his management but our calls went unanswered.
It should be noted that Kelechi is not new to controversies.
In 2024, he spent the better part of the years feuding with fellow musicians from Coast.
In a series of social media posts accessed by this writer, the star dragged his colleagues online as he claimed to be only one who is successful.
The online scuffles tainted his brand although that did not get to him.
