Celebrated Swahili radio presenter Esther Mwende Macharia has found a new home after months in the cold.
Nairobi News has learnt Mwende Macharia is the latest addition to the Radio Jambo team, a move that has been welcomed with mixed reactions.
Sharing news of her new endeavor, Mwende took to social media and posted a photo a photo of herself at Radio Jambo’s studios as she teased her upcoming show on the station.
Mwende disclosed that she will start her show on Radio Jambo on Monday, October 6, 2025.
She added that her show will be running from Monday all the way to Friday.
She will be running a show dubbed Radio Jambo Overnight.

“Jambo! Queen ndani! Radio Jambo. Mon to Friday. Starting 6th Oct.

#QueenoftheAirwaves,” she wrote.
Her announcement excited her radio fans who had missed her since she went off air a couple of months ago.
Many welcomed her back on air and promised to keep listening to her show on Radio Jambo.
Her move comes about six months after she hanged the microphone and headphones at Radio Maisha.
Her exit broke the hearts of many listeners who loved her show Konnekt, which she hosted alongside Clemmo 254.
While Mwende’s move to Radio Jambo excited and impressed some of her fans, others picked issue with her over the same.
Quite a number of critics wondered why she ditched Radio Maisha, which they termed as a big brand for Radio Jambo which according to them is not as big as the former.
