Salvation Healing Ministries head pastor Victor Kanyari has once again shown that he will not be swayed on how to raise his two children with his late ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo.
For days now, a section of netizens, including media personality Dr Ofweneke, has been urging Kanyari to keep his daughter, Sky, away from social media.
Many argued that Sky needs time to grieve privately and grow up like a normal child, warning that her increasing online visibility could expose her to exploitation due to her age and naivety.
Some even advised Victor Kanyari to take Sky’s phone away to prevent future unforeseen dangers.

However, the pastor appears unfazed by the mounting criticism.
Instead, he went all out to spoil his daughter, buying her an expensive pair of JBL headphones.
Nairobi News spotted a video of Kanyari shopping and bonding with Sky and her brother Sammy.
In the clip, shared on his social media platforms, the trio is seen buying clothes before stopping by a gadget shop where Kanyari cheerfully purchases JBL headphones for Sky, a pair retailing for over Sh10,000.
Sky is seen consulting her father and the shop owner as she picks out accessories, including a phone cover.
Eventually, the shop owner presents several headphone options, and Sky settles on a stylish black pair that matches her phone.
Before Victor Kanyari pays, Sky tests the headphones using her phone and beams with excitement at the bass quality.
She then lets her father and brother Dany try them out, wrapping up what appeared to be a warm family outing.
The gesture comes just days after Dr Ofweneke urged Kanyari, and Betty Bayo’s widower, Tash, to protect Sky by keeping her off social media as she navigates the early stages of grief.

Speaking in an Instagram video on Friday, December 5, 2025, Ofweneke stressed that his concerns were rooted in love for both the family and the young girl, who has recently found herself thrust into public scrutiny.
“I stand to be corrected respectfully, but I am saying this with a lot of love, especially to the family of the late Betty Bayo, who are my friends as well. First of all, somebody needs to take the phone away from Sky. Sky Kanyari’s phone needs to be taken away,” he said.
He emphasised that Sky is still very young and should not be dealing with the pressures of public perception or online engagement at such a vulnerable time.
“Sky should be kept off social media for a while. We must remember this is still a very young child, and there are still a few things growing in terms of her maturity, posture, and how she handles things. She has just lost her mum, for heaven’s sake. We need to let the kid grieve like any other normal person,” he added.
Ofweneke’s advice followed a wave of online criticism targeting Kanyari, with netizens accusing him of being too physically close to Sky in photos and videos shared on his platforms.
Many argued that Sky has grown and should not appear overly affectionate with her father, urging Kanyari to “toe the line” in how he publicly interacts with his daughter.
