TV Host Tony Mwirigi Buys First Car Days after Impressing Netizens with His Saving Culture


2025 was indeed the year for K24 TV and Milele FM presenter Tony Mwirigi judging by the many recent wins he has celebrating in his life.

Barely days after breaking his piggy bank and unleashing a saving of Sh126,000, Mwirigi has given himself an early Christmas gift in the form of an automobile.

Nairobi News has learned the bubbly media personality is the newest car owner in town.

The presenter on Sunday, December 21, took to social media to thank God for blessing him with his first ever car, a Mazda Atenza.

The star posted several photos and videos of himself standing next to his new car as he celebrated his latest achievement.

In his caption, Tony Mwirigi thanked God for enabling him to own a car by paying for it in cash and not through paid partnerships.

He disclosed that he is contented with the Mazda but still dreams of owning a Mercedes Benz in future.

Tony Mwirigi reiterated that all the success came through prayers and hard work.

“My first car at 27. New Mazda Atenza owner. I prayed to God for everything that is happening in my life. Indeed he has done it again. No paid partnerships, just me and my hardwork. Swipe and see the power of prayers. I prayed for it. Just a reminder. We are currently rocking in a Mazda Atenza but the dream will always be a Masidis,” he wrote.

His fans and followers were impressed by his new acquisition and duly thronged the comments section of his post to congratulate him.

As earlier reported by this publication, the fastest-rising TV host motivated countless Kenyans after sharing a simple yet powerful personal finance milestone that many found relatable and inspiring.

In a short video shared on social media on Thursday, December 18, the journo who doubles up as an events emcee documented the moment he finally opened his piggy bank after months of disciplined saving.

What came out of his piggy bank surprised many; a total of Sh126,600 quietly accumulated over half a year.

According to Mwirigi, the savings journey began in July 2025 and ran consistently until December 12, 2025, proving that commitment and patience can yield impressive results even without sophisticated financial tools.

“This was my first time trying home banking. I honestly didn’t expect it to reach this amount,” he shared in the clip, noting that he had never previously owned a piggy bank.

What started as a casual attempt to manage spare cash even in this difficult time quickly turned into a defining personal moment for the presenter.

The video captured Mwirigi carefully counting both notes and coins, visibly amused and impressed by the final figure.

Throughout the clip, Mwirigi emphasised the value of discipline and consistency, reminding viewers that meaningful savings don’t always come from large deposits.

“Never ignore the small coins. They make a huge difference over time,” he added.

MwirIgi also revealed that his decision to start saving was influenced by comedian Mulamwah, who has in the past spoken openly about financial responsibility and the importance of putting money aside.

The story of his saving culture inspired many netizens who insisted they will try the same in 2026.
