Kenyan content creator Mungai Eve has opened up about her changing body, revealing that her decision to hit the gym came after attempts to gain weight using supplements failed to provide sustainable results.
Eve shared the details during a recent question-and-answer session on social media, where she responded to followers curious about her fitness journey and how her body changed from the time she weighed about 49kg.
According to Eve, she began noticing natural changes in her weight after turning 23 in 2023.
However, she said her weight would reach a plateau, prompting her to try weight-gain supplements.
“I started gaining weight naturally when I turned 23 in 2023, but my weight would always plateau,” Eve said.
She explained that the supplements initially helped increase her appetite, but maintaining the results proved difficult.
“I then tried weight-gain supplements, which really helped improve my appetite at the time, but unfortunately, it wasn’t sustainable.”

Eve said she would lose some of the weight whenever she stopped using the supplements.
She also said that using them excessively resulted in her gaining more fat than she wanted.
“Whenever I stopped, the weight would come off again, and when I overused them, I ended up gaining too much fat.”
Why Mungai Eve chose the gym
After her experience with supplements, Eve said she opted for strength training as a different approach to her fitness journey.
She explained that her goal was to build muscle, maintain her weight and work on her body in a way she considered more sustainable.
“That’s when I decided to take the gym route to build muscle, maintain my weight and shape my body in a more sustainable way.”
Eve also believes age played a role in the changes she experienced.
She recalled remaining around 49kg throughout much of her teenage years and early 20s before noticing that her body began changing naturally in her early 20s.
“I also think age played a factor. I was around 49kg throughout my teenage years and early 20s, and it was from around 23 that I naturally started gaining weight.”
She summed up her experience as a combination of age, nutrition and strength training.
“So for me, it’s been a combination of age, nutrition and strength training.”

Mungai Eve says she has always loved her body
Beyond the gym and weight changes, Eve used the Q&A to explain her attitude towards her body.
Responding to a follower who praised her for loving herself through different stages, she said she had always appreciated her body regardless of whether she was considered underweight, had gained weight or was leaner.
“One thing about me: I looove my body! I’ve always loved it through every season, when I was underweight, when I gained a little weight, and now that I’m lean.”
Eve added that her experiences with health challenges had taught her to show herself more grace and listen to her body.
“Especially as someone who has struggled with my health, I’ve learnt to have so much grace with my body. It has carried me through every season, and I’ve learnt to appreciate it, listen to it and take care of it.”
Eve previously opened up about being bullied over her weight
The latest revelation comes after Eve previously spoke about the criticism she received when she was much slimmer.
In January 2026, she shared a throwback photo from 2021 and said she weighed 44kg at the time.
She described herself as having struggled to gain weight and pushed back against people who criticised her after her body changed.
Earlier this week, Eve also recalled being bullied over her weight when she was around 43kg, saying some of the comments about her appearance had left her in tears.
Her experiences show that she has faced scrutiny over her appearance at different stages of her fitness journey.
From 49kg to a consistent gym routine
Eve’s fitness journey has continued beyond simply trying to gain weight.
In December 2025, she revealed that she had been consistently attending the gym since October 6 and had reached 62kg, which she described as the heaviest she had ever been.
At the time, she said she was comfortable with where she was and did not want to focus on either losing or gaining weight.
In August 2026, she also reflected on an 11-month fitness journey and explained that a photoshoot had helped motivate her to take her gym routine more seriously.
Her latest comments therefore provide more context about why she chose exercise after experimenting with other ways of changing her weight.
Rather than presenting her experience as a formula for everyone, Eve’s comments are based on her personal journey.
Nutrition, exercise and changes in body composition can affect people differently, and supplements or fitness routines are not universally suitable.
For Eve, however, strength training has become part of a broader approach to taking care of herself and feeling comfortable with the changes her body has gone through.
