Billy Mwangi, a man who was abducted and recently released, has publicly stated that he is not the one posting on his X (formerly Twitter) account, claiming that his account was hacked and his mobile phone taken by his abductors during his ordeal.

In an emotional video, Billy detailed the traumatic experience he endured during his time in captivity.

He explained how he was subjected to physical and mental abuse, which has left lasting psychological scars.

“What happened to me has left me deeply affected. The trauma I went through has caused mental problems, and I am still struggling to heal from it,” Billy said in the video.

Billy also addressed the confusion surrounding his social media activity, clarifying that any recent posts on his X account were not from him.

He emphasized that his phone was confiscated by his abductors, and he has not been able to update his account until his release.

“I want to make it clear to my fans, especially those in Embu and Nairobi, that it is not me posting on my account.

I  also thank all of you and will personally update you all soon,” he added, assuring his followers that he is safe and will provide more details when he is ready.

Billy’s abduction had caused widespread concern, and his subsequent release has sparked discussions about the ongoing problem of abductions and enforced disappearances in the country.

While he has yet to reveal the full details of his time in captivity, his message aims to reassure his fans and address the misunderstandings surrounding his social media presence.

His story adds to the growing list of cases that have raised alarms over human rights abuses, with activists and citizens alike calling for greater accountability and protection against such crimes.

Billy’s supporters are eagerly awaiting his updates as he continues to recover from his traumatic experience.
