A woman from Kakamega County is appealing for justice after she was allegedly assaulted and violently evicted from her rented house by her landlord following a dispute over vacating the premises.
The victim, identified as Amanda, claims the shocking incident occurred after the landlord demanded that she move out of the house.
According to Amanda, although she had been asked to vacate, she delayed leaving the premises, a move that reportedly triggered a heated confrontation.
What began as a disagreement allegedly escalated into a brutal assault that left the woman nursing serious facial injuries.

Photos circulating online purportedly show Amanda with visible injuries, drawing widespread condemnation from Kenyans who have called for swift action against the suspect.
Speaking about the ordeal, Amanda said she never expected the disagreement to turn violent and is now pleading with authorities to ensure the person responsible faces the full force of the law.
The incident has reignited conversations around tenants’ rights in Kenya, with many pointing out that landlords are required to follow legal procedures when seeking to evict tenants.
Under Kenyan law, landlords cannot resort to violence, intimidation or unlawful force to remove occupants from rental properties.
Evictions are expected to follow due process, including the issuance of appropriate notices and, where necessary, obtaining court orders.
Following reports of the incident, police launched investigations and are reportedly pursuing the suspect.
Authorities have urged members of the public who may have information regarding the landlord’s whereabouts to immediately report to the nearest police station to aid in the ongoing investigations.
The disturbing case has sparked anger on social media, with many Kenyans demanding justice for Amanda and calling for stricter enforcement of laws protecting tenants from abuse and unlawful evictions.
Human rights advocates have also weighed in, stressing that disputes between landlords and tenants should be resolved through legal channels rather than acts of violence.
They warned that such incidents not only violate the law but also put lives at risk.
As Amanda continues to recover from her injuries, she says her main desire is to see justice served so that no other tenant has to endure a similar experience.
Police have reiterated their commitment to bringing the suspect to book and have appealed to anyone with information that could lead to the landlord’s arrest to cooperate with investigators by reporting to the nearest police station.
The case remains under investigation.
The incident has triggered widespread debate online, with many Kenyans urging authorities to expedite the probe and ensure accountability if the allegations are proven in court.
