The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has taken over investigations into the alleged abduction of Jimmy Mutava, with detectives from its specialised Anti-Abduction Unit now leading the probe.
The DCI said the investigations followed a report lodged at Mlolongo Police Station on July 27, 2026.
The agency said detectives are actively pursuing several persons of interest as they seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the reported incident.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations wishes to inform the public that detectives from the DCI Anti-Abduction Unit have taken over investigations into the reported alleged abduction of Jimmy Mutava,” the statement said.
The DCI said it would keep the public updated on any significant developments as the investigations progress.
The agency also appealed to members of the public with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
