KBC Mourns The Loss Of Reporter Fredrick Parsayo, Found Dead At His Kinoo Home

The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is in mourning following the tragic death of Fredrick Parsayo, a reporter in the editorial department.

KBC confirmed his passing on Friday, March 21, at his residence in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause.

A statement from KBC expressed deep sorrow, saying, “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Fredrick Parsayo, who served as a reporter in the KBC Editorial Department.”

The statement further explained, “Fredrick sadly left us on Friday, March 21, 2025, under circumstances still being investigated, at his home in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency. This sudden loss has deeply affected us all.”

The incident was reported to the Kinoo Police Station, and Parsayo’s body has been taken to St. Teresa Mortuary. His family has been notified of his passing.

KBC described Fredrick as a valued member of their editorial team, noting that his absence would be profoundly felt by all who knew and worked with him.

“On behalf of the KBC Board of Directors, Management, and all staff, we extend our sincerest condolences to Fredrick’s family, friends, and all those impacted by his loss,” the statement read.

Parsayo joined KBC in 2021 after completing his studies at the University of Nairobi (UoN), where he had pursued a degree in Journalism and Media Studies, specializing in Broadcast Media.

He graduated in 2022 after a four-year program at the university.

His death comes amidst a series of recent journalist fatalities, with Parsayo’s passing occurring nearly a year after the death of former NTV journalist Rita Tinina.

Tinina passed away in March of the previous year, and her body was found in her home in Brooklyn Springs, Kileleshwa, Nairobi. An autopsy revealed she had died from pneumonia.

Tinina was expected to report to work for the 1 pm news bulletin but was found unresponsive by concerned colleagues.
