Nigerian stars have become the envy of many creatives across the world after the country’s government tirelessly exhibited it’s efforts in appreciating their own with various heartwarming gestures.
Not only has the Nigerian government put in place measures to ensure creatives earn a decent living from their crafts but has also been honouring them in the best ways possible.
This was amplified recently after Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold received a remarkable honour with an entire street in Lagos, names after him.

Excited Gold could not keep calm as he took to his Instagram page to share a video captured during the unveiling ceremony.
In a video clip sighted by Nairobi News, Adekunle Gold was seen alongside his wife, Simi and their daughter Deja as they jointly pulled back a veil to reveal the new signpost bearing his full name; “Adekunle Kasoko Street”.
The star posted the video followed by a short yet grateful caption that read;
“Adekunle Kosoko Street. The city that raised me now carries my name. Thank you, Lord, for my many blessings.”
The honour carries a deep sense of history for Adekunle Gold, who hails from the Kosoko royal family of Lagos Island, Nigeria.
This writer understands Adekunle’s lineage traces back to Oba Kosoko, the former king of Lagos who reigned from 1845 to 1851.

Not only did the gesture show Nigerian government’s appreciation and acknowledgement to Adekunle’s lineage but also his efforts in flying the country’s flag up high globally, as far as music and entertainment is concerned.
The latest development impressed countless of the Sade singer who took to different social media platforms to congratulate him for the same.
It should be noted that Adekunle is of Nigeria’s top music exports, having conquered different continents with his music.
