Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have arrested a suspected drug trafficker and seized heroin valued at approximately Sh1.19 million following a swift intelligence-led operation in Nakuru.
The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Ephantus Kariuki Mwangi, was apprehended while riding a motorcycle registration number KMEC 785W.
According to investigators, his luggage aroused suspicion among the officers, prompting an immediate search.
Upon inspection, detectives recovered 397 grams of heroin carefully concealed for transportation.
In addition to the narcotics, officers also found two syringes and needles, ten rolls of bhang, and three packets of Supermatch cigarettes.

Authorities believe the arrest disrupted an active drug supply run, dealing a significant blow to narcotics distribution in the area.
Kariuki is currently being held in police custody as detectives finalize investigations ahead of his arraignment in court.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks through sustained intelligence-led operations and multi-agency collaboration.
The agency emphasized its zero-tolerance stance on drug trafficking, vowing to pursue offenders relentlessly regardless of their status, as part of efforts to ensure a safer, drug-free Kenya.
