Two dormitories at Nyosia Mixed Secondary in Nyaribari Chache were razed following a fire incident at the school Saturday night. At least 150 students had their personal affects gutted. In a chilling turn of events, two women, a mother and her friend were arrested in connection with the tragic death of a four-year-old boy. The suspect-Melvin Owuor (mother) while in the company of her friend is reported to have taken a lifeless body of the child to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary on December 9, 2024 but failed to return after reporting the incident to the police as guided by the morgue officials. The IEBC selection panel has revealed that it received a total of 1,848 applications for the positions of Chairperson and Commissioners. Baringo Senator William Cheptumo is dead. Cheptumo died at the Nairobi Hospital where he had been battling undisclosed illness. His family said he had been sick for some time until his death on February 16. He had been discharged from hospital last week but his condition deteriorated prompting his hospitalization again, a family member said. His body was moved to Lee Funeral Home. Cheptumo, 57 was a lawyer by profession and had served as a Member of Parliament for Baringo North in the area between 2008 and 2013.
