The body of an unidentified man believed to be aged about 40 was found floating in the ocean at Nyali Beach, Mombasa County.
Members of the public reported the discovery to police at around 8.42am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Police officers visited the beach and retrieved the body.
Police said the deceased was an African male adult and was found without clothes, with deep cuts reported on his head and legs.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, with police yet to establish whether he drowned or died from injuries before his body ended up in the ocean.
The body was moved to the Coast General Hospital mortuary pending identification and postmortem examination as investigations continue.
Elsewhere, a 36-year-old man was found dead after his body was discovered floating in a dam in Mogotio, Baringo County.
The body of Kimaru Chemjor, was discovered on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at a dam in Borokwo Village, Kimose Sub-Location, Kimose Location.
Members of the public reported the discovery to police at around 3.40pm.
Police officers responded to the scene and retrieved the body from the dam.
Police processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
The circumstances surrounding Chemjor’s death remain unclear, with investigations ongoing.
And human remains believed to belong to a man who went missing in December 2025 have been recovered in a hilly area in Kayangombe, Mutomo, Kitui County.
The remains were discovered on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, police said.
Police officers visited the scene and recovered a human skull, lower jaw, leg and hand bones, alongside a handbag, shoes, a purse containing silver coins worth Sh100 and a sweater.
The recovered items were positively identified by the son of the deceased, who had been reported missing in December 2025.
Crime Scene Investigation officers documented the scene before the remains were collected and taken to the Mutomo Level IV Hospital mortuary.
The remains will undergo DNA analysis to conclusively establish the identity of the deceased as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death.
