Blocking someone on TikTok is a useful feature when you want to control who interacts with your content. Whether it’s for privacy, safety, or personal reasons, users can block others to prevent them from viewing or engaging with their profile. But what if you later want to review or unblock those users? Fortunately, TikTok allows you to view all the accounts you have blocked in one place. Here’s how to find blocked accounts on TikTok.
TikTok Blocking Feature
When you block someone on TikTok, they can no longer see your content, follow you, or send you messages. Blocking is discreet — TikTok does not notify the person that they have been blocked. This ensures you can curate your online space without unnecessary confrontation.
However, over time, you may forget who you’ve blocked, or decide to reconnect with someone. That’s where TikTok’s blocked list comes in handy. It allows you to see every user you’ve blocked and gives you the option to unblock them at any time.
Steps to Find Your Blocked Accounts
To view your blocked accounts on TikTok, begin by opening the app and tapping on your profile icon in the bottom right corner. Once you’re on your profile page, tap the three-line menu (also known as the hamburger menu) in the top right corner to access your settings and privacy menu.
From there, select Settings and Privacy, then tap Privacy. Scroll down and find the option labeled Blocked Accounts. This will open a list of all the TikTok users you have blocked. Their usernames and profile pictures will appear, allowing you to review each account individually.
If you want to unblock someone, simply tap the Unblock button next to their name. Once unblocked, that user will be able to view your content and interact with your profile again, unless your account is set to private.
What Happens After You Unblock Someone
After unblocking a user, TikTok does not automatically restore the follower relationship or any previous interactions. If they followed you before being blocked, they will have to follow you again. Similarly, if you had previously followed them, you would need to visit their profile and re-follow them if desired. Past messages will not be restored unless you both start a new conversation.
Unblocking does not notify the other user, maintaining TikTok’s commitment to user privacy.
Why Reviewing Blocked Accounts Matters
Sometimes users block others impulsively during a disagreement or due to a misunderstanding. By regularly reviewing your blocked list, you can ensure you’re not keeping someone blocked unnecessarily. It also helps manage your online interactions, especially if you’re a content creator looking to maintain a professional or inclusive audience.
