Kenya emerged as a top performer at the 10th edition of the Continental Africa Public Service Day (APSD) celebrations, clinching three prestigious awards during the gala dinner held on Monday, June 23, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Themed “Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps,” the biennial event brought together public sector innovators from across the continent to showcase transformative ideas aimed at improving public service delivery.
Kenya’s award-winning innovations were:
Best Innovation in Service Delivery; Poultry Melovax by Tharaka University – first Place
Most Accountable & Transparent Organization; Jaza Miti Initiative by Kenya Forestry Research Institute – first Runners-up.
Best Pavilion; Team Kenya Exhibition Stand – second Runners-up.

Several other Kenyan institutions showcased outstanding innovations at the event, including State Department for Internal Security & National Administration – Automated Reporting Management Information System (ARMIS), Baringo National Polytechnic – Water Recycling Innovation and Huduma Kenya – Universal Agent Model.
The others are Kenya Ports Authority – KARGOPAY Innovation and Kisiwa National Polytechnic- Five functional bed Innovation.
This year’s APSD celebrations featured a wide range of exhibitions and symposia, where African nations presented public service delivery innovations and deliberated on topical issues aligned with the theme.
Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development and head of Kenya’s delegation, commended Team Kenya for their exemplary performance.
She noted that the awards affirm Kenya’s leadership in public service transformation across the continent.
