A 45-year-old man was shot dead while drinking with other revelers at an illicit brew den near the Lewa River in Burat Ward, Isiolo County.
The incident happened on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at about 10pm, with the killing reported to police at Kulamawe Police Station on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Peter Nathaki Napetau, was reportedly attacked while enjoying a drink with other patrons at the establishment.
Police officers responded to the scene and found Napetau’s body in a sitting position with five gunshot wounds to the chest.
Four spent cartridges believed to be of 7.62×51mm calibre were recovered at the scene and preserved as exhibits as detectives commenced investigations into the shooting.
The motive for the killing and the identity of the assailant or assailants had not been established.
Napetau’s body was taken to the Isiolo County Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries after falling from the fourth floor of a residential building in Nairobi’s Kangemi area.
The incident occurred at about 6:55am on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Glory Towers Apartments, where the man had reportedly been drinking with six women.
Police from Kabete Police Station responded to reports of a disturbance at an apartment on the fifth floor and established that Shuayb Mohammed Shadow had fallen from the fourth floor and landed on an adjacent mabati rooftop.
According to the police report, Shadow had allegedly been locked outside the apartment by the friends with whom he had been drinking before he fell from the building.
Police rescued him from the rooftop and rushed him to Eagles Nursing Hospital in Kangemi for urgent treatment. He appeared intoxicated and had multiple severe visible injuries to his head, hands, legs and other parts of his body.
Police also recovered assorted alcoholic drinks and drugs from the apartment as investigations continued.
Six women who were reportedly drinking with Shadow at the time of the incident were taken into custody to assist with investigations. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall.
