There was a brief moment of tension at Opoda Farm in Bondo on Saturday, October 18, after some mourners attempted to forcefully gain entry into the late Raila Odinga ’s village house.
Security officers manning the compound were forced to intervene swiftly after one man tried to breach the barriers leading to the Odinga family’s main house.
According to footage from the event, the disturbance began when the unidentified mourner, dressed in a black shirt, walked directly toward the main entrance, ignoring repeated warnings from the security team.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the man is seen advancing towards the gate before being intercepted by masked, heavily armed military officers guarding the premises.
The officers quickly restrained him as he appeared to plead his case, prompting a brief confrontation with the surrounding crowd.
The situation momentarily escalated as the mourner resisted orders to retreat, forcing several officers to rush in and push back the crowd.
Calm was eventually restored after a few tense minutes.
The incident occurred as thousands of mourners continued streaming into Opoda Farm to pay their last respects to the former Prime Minister ahead of his burial scheduled for Sunday, October 19.
