Several people sustained injuries in an accident involving a trailer and a school van along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway on the morning of Tuesday, January 14.
The incident involved a yellow school van from Mumbe Secondary School, a private institution in Makindu.
Initial reports suggest that the crash occurred when a container being transported by a trailer detached and fell onto the school van.
Photos from the scene show the van severely damaged on one side after the container landed on it.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, with the trailer still in place.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported at the time of publication, and the driver of the school van was unharmed. However, some passengers were injured.
This crash adds to a series of road accidents that have occurred recently.

The crash occurred around 8:00 pm in Mutwot area when the matatu, traveling toward Eldoret, swerved out of its lane and collided with a school bus belonging to Cheptabach Secondary School.
The matatu driver, two passengers, and a child died on the spot, while several others were taken to nearby hospitals.
Earlier that same weekend, on Saturday, January 11, another tragic accident occurred on the Londiani-Kisumu highway involving a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) bus.
