Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna has found herself at the centre of a heated social media dispute after businessman and social media personality Madollar Mapesa publicly alleged that she owes him millions of shillings.
The claims triggered a sharp response from the singer, who has categorically denied ever borrowing money from Mapesa or having any financial dealings with him.
The disagreement unfolded on social media on July 31, 2026, with Mapesa making allegations about an alleged loan that he claimed Tanasha had taken approximately a year earlier.
According to his claims, the money was allegedly meant to finance cosmetic procedures, with interest subsequently increasing the amount he says is owed.
However, Mapesa’s allegations have not been independently established.
At the time of the public exchange, he had not publicly produced bank statements, signed loan agreements or transaction records proving that Tanasha personally received money from him.
Tanasha Donna denies knowing Mapesa
Tanasha responded firmly to the allegations, maintaining that she had never met Mapesa and had no financial relationship with him.
In a statement shared on her Instagram Story, the singer said she normally avoids responding to what she considers fabricated stories but felt compelled to address the matter after her name was repeatedly mentioned.
“I normally don’t respond to fabricated stories online, but this has gone far enough,” Tanasha stated.
Tanasha went on to issue a direct challenge to Mapesa, asking him to provide evidence supporting his claims.
“I have NEVER met this individual in my life. I do not know him, I have never borrowed money from him, and I have never had any financial dealings with him whatsoever.”
The former Diamond Platnumz partner also questioned Mapesa’s repeated references to having “receipts”, insisting that any evidence should be made public if it exists.
“He keeps referring to ‘receipts.’ Please, POST THEM. Show the transaction, the agreement, the communication, the meeting, anything that proves I personally borrowed money from you.”
She maintained that such documentation could not exist because, according to her, the alleged transaction never happened.
Mapesa stands by his allegations
Despite Tanasha’s denial, Mapesa continued to stand by his claims, alleging that the singer borrowed money from him and that the amount had grown significantly because of interest.
His allegations have attracted considerable attention partly because Mapesa has previously been involved in public disputes concerning alleged loans and repayments involving other Kenyan personalities.
In 2025, for instance, he was involved in a highly publicised dispute with media personality Azziad Nasenya over an alleged loan.
Mapesa claimed he had initially advanced Azziad Sh1.9 million and that the amount payable had increased under their agreement. The dispute later resulted in a reported settlement.
That history has added another layer of interest to the latest allegations involving Tanasha, although the two cases concern different individuals and should not be treated as proof of the current claim.
Tanasha demands evidence
Rather than engaging in a prolonged back-and-forth over social media, Tanasha challenged Mapesa to substantiate his allegations with verifiable evidence.
She questioned why someone claiming to have a legitimate financial agreement with her would be unable to produce documentation showing the alleged transaction.
“If you are going to publicly accuse me of owing you money, then publicly provide the evidence. Otherwise, stop using my name and image to spread false information.”
Tanasha concluded her response with an unequivocal denial.
“I have never met you. I do not know you. I do not owe you.”
Her response has since generated discussion among fans, with social media users weighing in on whether Mapesa will produce the documents he says support his allegations.
A dispute that could move beyond social media
The latest confrontation remains largely a war of competing claims, with Tanasha denying the alleged debt while Mapesa maintains his position.
Neither side has, based on the publicly available information, established through an independent legal finding that money was either borrowed by Tanasha from Mapesa or remains outstanding.
The dispute also highlights how financial disagreements involving public figures can quickly become entertainment news once they spill onto social media.
For Tanasha, the issue appears to be less about the alleged amount and more about her reputation.
The singer has warned against what she describes as attempts to use her name and public image to attract attention.
“I have never met you. I do not know you. I do not owe you.”
For now, attention remains on Mapesa and whether he will publicly release the “receipts” he has referred to.
Unless supporting documentation or a formal legal development emerges, the alleged multimillion-shilling debt remains an unproven claim that Tanasha strongly disputes.
