Kenya will host the 2027 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally, with the government confirming that the country will once again welcome the world’s top rally drivers to the iconic event in Naivasha.
In a statement announcing the confirmation, the government expressed delight at retaining the prestigious motorsport competition, which attracts international attention and provides economic opportunities for local businesses.
“The Safari Rally stays home. I am delighted to confirm that Kenya will host the WRC Safari Rally in 2027,” the statement read.
The event will see leading rally drivers compete across Kenya’s plains, valleys and the challenging roads of Naivasha, which have become synonymous with the historic rally.

“The Safari was born on Kenyan soil. It belongs on Kenyan soil,” the statement added, highlighting the rally’s historical connection to the country.
The government noted that hosting the competition provides economic benefits to the hospitality industry and other businesses while showcasing Kenya’s tourism attractions to a global audience.
“Every edition fills our hotels, energises our businesses and carries the beauty of our country to screens across the world,” the statement said.
The government also thanked the Ministry of Sports, the WRC Safari Rally Project, private-sector partners, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and the WRC Promoter for their role in securing the 2027 edition.
The announcement reinforces Kenya’s position as a host of the internationally recognised motorsport event, which brings together competitors, spectators and rally enthusiasts from different parts of the world.
The statement concluded with a message welcoming fans and participants back to the rally’s home in Naivasha, saying, “Tutaonana Naivasha!”
