52 Carcasses Of Stolen Sheep Found In Kayole, Nairobi

A herd of sheep that had been stolen from Isinya area, Kajiado County was found slaughtered behind a house in Kayole, Nairobi.

Police said they arrested five suspects in connection with the incident.

A herder had on August 24 reported his 140 sheep were missing after they went missing with an employee who was taking care of them.

This prompted an investigation that took police to Kayole in the city where the police recovered 38 sheep that were alive on August 26 evening.

About 52 others had been slaughtered and their skin abandoned at the scene while 47 others are missing, police said.

It was then that the suspects were rounded up and taken to custody pending interrogation and arraignment. Police said they were pursuing the missing sheep amid suspicion that they had been slaughtered and sold to butcheries.

Police said they are looking for more suspects involved in the saga. They are also looking for the vehicle that was used in shipping the animals from Isinya to the city.
