Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, have spoken out following the swearing-in of Professor Kithure Kindiki as Deputy President.
In a heartfelt statement on Friday, November 1, Gachagua expressed gratitude for his family, describing them as a precious gift from God.
He shared a family photo from their home, reflecting on the joy of spending quality time together.
He remarked on the soothing effects of nature, noting that “the smell of fresh grass and the sounds of birds singing” contribute to a happy family atmosphere.
Gachagua conveyed his happiness about being back in his childhood home, where he can appreciate the stunning views of Mt. Kenya.
In his message, he emphasized his gratitude to God for providing him with a loving and supportive family. He wrote:
“Home Sweet Home!
Thanking God for the gift of my family. The smell of fresh grass and the sounds of chirping birds are what a happy family needs.
I am forever grateful to God for my loving and supportive family. We are happy to be home, where I was born and raised!
I can’t wait for the morning to take my walk in Hombe Forest and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt. Kenya as I thank God for His kindness.
God Bless Kenya,” Gachagua stated.
Pastor Dorcas Gachagua also shared her thoughts, highlighting the importance of gratitude amid challenges. She wrote:
“We give God all the glory. It’s easy to focus on difficulties and forget the fundamental principle of a believer.
Today, my family and I choose to offer a prayer of thanksgiving, recognizing that God is sovereign, whether He saves us from trials or not.
We celebrate His faithfulness and mercy, calling Him Ebenezer for bringing us this far.
As Job said, ‘Though he slay me, yet will I hope in Him.’
We appreciate your love and prayers. May God bless you all.”
