Police officers from Oyugis Police Station in Homa Bay County have arrested a 22-year-old suspect following a manhunt conducted in Oyugis Town.
According to police, the suspect had earlier attempted to evade arrest, abandoning a significant quantity of illicit alcohol and narcotics in the process.
During the operation, officers recovered approximately 600 rolls of bhang and 20 litres of chang’aa.
Authorities said the seizure marks a significant step in disrupting the illegal trade in drugs and illicit brew within the area, as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the region.
The suspect has since been placed in police custody and is awaiting arraignment in court.
The recovered exhibits have been secured at Oyugis Police Station to support investigations and subsequent legal proceedings.
The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying the fight against illicit drugs and alcohol across the country.
