Ugandan music star Sheebah Karungi has once again set social media ablaze after opening up about her views on love and relationships in a candid conversation that has left fans divided.
The celebrated singer, known for her fearless personality and unapologetic opinions, addressed long-standing rumours surrounding her sexuality during an episode of her Let’s Talk About It podcast.
Rather than giving a direct label to her romantic preferences, Sheebah made it clear that she connects with people based on their character rather than gender.

According to the “Nsi Namba” hitmaker, she is more attracted to genuine hearts, kindness, and positive energy than societal expectations about who one is supposed to love.
“I love who I love. I fall in love with human beings,” the singer said, adding that being a good person matters more to her than whether someone is male or female.
“If you’re beautiful at heart and you’re a good human being, I am your girl. Man or woman, I don’t really see all that. I love humans. It has nothing to do with anything else. If you love me and you’re a good person, I’ll love you too. How people choose to interpret it is entirely up to them,” she added.
Her remarks immediately triggered intense debate online, with many praising her honesty while others attempted to interpret what exactly she meant.
During the discussion, Sheebah explained that she values emotional connection above all else and does not believe love should be boxed into strict categories.
She maintained that if someone treats her with love and respect, that is what truly matters to her.
The outspoken entertainer also appeared unbothered by the public reaction to her comments, saying people are free to interpret her words however they choose.
For years, the Ugandan superstar has faced endless speculation about her dating life, largely fueled by her bold feminist views, independent lifestyle, and refusal to conform to traditional expectations placed on female celebrities in East Africa.
Sheebah has often challenged societal norms in interviews and public appearances.
In recent months, she also made headlines after speaking openly about modern relationships and saying she would not mind being in a polygamous setup if there was honesty and mutual respect involved.
Born Samali Karungi, the singer rose from humble beginnings in Kampala to become one of Uganda’s most successful female artistes.
From her early days as a dancer in Obsessions music group to dominating East African charts with hits such as Ice Cream, Nkwatako, and Jealousy, Sheebah has built a reputation as one of the region’s most influential entertainers.
Beyond music, she has also built a strong brand around female empowerment and self-independence, themes that continue to resonate with many young women across Africa.
Following her latest remarks, social media users flooded platforms with mixed reactions.
While some applauded her for embracing authenticity and promoting love without boundaries, others questioned whether she had indirectly confirmed years of rumours surrounding her sexuality.
Despite the noise online, Sheebah appears determined to stay true to herself and avoid being boxed in by public opinion.
Her comments have once again proven why she remains one of the most talked-about celebrities in East Africa, a star who never shies away from difficult conversations and whose words almost always spark debate far beyond the music industry.
