Alabama has executed 41-year-old Jeremy Tremaine Williams by lethal injection over the 2021 kidnapping, sexual abuse and murder of five-year-old Kamarie Holland.
Williams was put to death at Holman Correctional Facility on August 13, 2026, after he chose to abandon his remaining appeals and dismiss his legal representation. His decision cleared the way for Governor Kay Ivey to set the execution date.
The case attracted widespread attention after investigators determined that Kamarie had been taken from her home in Columbus, Georgia, to an abandoned property in Phenix City, Alabama. Prosecutors said the child’s mother, Kristy Siple, had trafficked her daughter to Williams for about $2,500, equivalent to roughly Sh300,000.
According to evidence presented in court, Williams subjected the child to horrific abuse, including forcing her to ingest methamphetamine and recording the assault. He later strangled the five-year-old and continued abusing her body after her death.
Authorities eventually discovered Kamarie’s remains in the basement of the abandoned house. During Williams’ 2024 trial, jurors became emotional as prosecutors played video evidence that had been recorded by the accused.
Williams received multiple death sentences following his conviction on charges connected to the killing, trafficking and abuse of the child’s remains.
Siple, who admitted to federal child sex trafficking charges, was separately sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in the case.
Officials said Williams deliberately gave up his usual lengthy appeals process, choosing instead to hasten his execution rather than spend the remainder of his life in a maximum-security prison.
